PV Modelling Norms
DCH BRICK 1.2 conventions for PV systems.
Property Usage
brick:panelArea: Surface area of a panel, such as a PV panel
brick:azimuth: (Horizontal) angle between a projected vector and a reference vector (typically a compass bearing). The projected vector usually indicates the direction of a face or plane.
brick:tilt: The direction an entity is facing in degrees above the horizon
brick:ratedPowerOutput: The nominal rated power output of the entity
Conventions
Any brick:PVPanel or any brick:PVArray MAY have brick:panelArea, brick:azimuth, brick:tilt, brick:ratedPowerOutput, and/or one or more of the brick:conversionEfficiency properties.
A brick:PVArray SHOULD have a location (brick:hasLocation), or locations, if they are known.
Comments:
The overall electrical system norm of electrical feeds direction being things nearest to the grid feeds things further from the grid is counter intuitive for solar panels but is maintained for consistency with other electrical system modelling.
Nested PVArrays are not allowed, but they can be fed in parallel from a Solar_Inverter.
