MQTT credentials must be generated on DCH so that the gateway can publish to the DCH broker. This can be done by going to Data -> Add Data Source on the main page:
Fill-in the details of the data source and press Add data source:
NOTE 1: the Username field must be in an email format.
NOTE 2: the Username you put that down in this page, is NOT the FULL MQTT username. Your FULL MQTT username will be issued after you press Add data source.
NOTE 3: Site ID and Building fields are only available if you have already created your Site and Building on DCH.
NOTE 4: Do NOT use your real email address or any email address already part of DCH. The Username MUST be unique. We recommend using formats like <your_org_id><0-9>@dch.com and iterate over the digits to avoid duplication of usernames.
Copy your credentials:
Your MQTT username in this case would be dsapi-unnatural-old-phase:test@test-email.com
Any MQTT payload published to the DCH broker using these credentials will automatically be assigned to your organisation, site and building.
