DCH has been built to reflect how businesses can own multiple buildings across multiple locations. As such, each building in DCH is linked to a Site, and each Site is linked to an Organisation. Just as a Site can contain multiple buildings, an Organisation can contain multiple Sites.
I.e., resources in DCH such as Sites, Buildings, Data Sources and Data all exist in the context of Organisations. Users can be granted access to resources in multiple Organisations; however as it is common for users to only work with resources in a single Organisation, DCH has a global Organisation selector at the top of the pages. Where users have access to multiple Organisations, they must use this selector to switch context to different Organisations.
All users in DCH have a Sandbox area where they can test out capabilities of DCH. Users' Sandboxes are a form of Organisation in DCH, so the Organisation selector is also required to switch to your sandbox for experimentation.
💡Tip: Icons can help you distinguish between Sites and Buildings on the platform. Sites have a location pin icon beside the site name, and buildings have a building icon beside the Building name.
