DCH provides tooling to generate a "model" of a site or building, including which entities are located within the building, any properties of these entities along with the relationships between these entities. These models are based on the to provide a consistent way to describe sites and buildings.
Currently the tool is an independent component of the DCH platform, so created models need to be subsequently uploaded to the DCH platform to leverage DCH's wider capabilities and applications. The model construction tool has three different types of "operations" it can be asked to perform:
- define entities within the model and their properties.
- define relationships between entities within the model.
- link points onboarded to DCH to entities within the model.
These operations can be done independently or as a batch depending on the supplied information. Once the site and building model(s) are created using the model generation tooling, the points defined within these models can be classified (e.g. apply appropriate units, scaling factors etc) using the .
The tool is similar to the BRICK consortium's , however it is tailored to DCH and is available through the DCH web interface.
